AUSTIN, Texas — The Town Lake YMCA is closed Thursday due to the potential of flooding.

Due to its location, the facility has dealt with significant flooding in the past.

In 2011, the basement was flooded with sewage and caused plumbing issues. During renovations, an isolation valve was installed. Officials say there’s still some inconvenience.

“When we close the isolation valve that means the sewers can’t come back towards the building, which is great, but that means we have no water flow in the building, which means we can’t operate,” Jude Hickey, a YMCA director, said.

Members can still go to other locations around town.
