LEANDER, Texas - A Leander ISD bus driver is facing charges following a swift water rescue Tuesday morning that involved a student.

Bus driver Nathan Deyoung faces charges of failing to obey warning signs and barriers over roads and abandoning/endangering a child.

According to Williamson County, the incident took place off CR 177 in Leander. Deyoung apparently ignored warning signs and barriers and proceeded into a flooded roadway.

Deyoung and a student were assisted to a safe area and were not injured.
