AUSTIN, Texas – Austin police responded to an incident at McBee Elementary School Monday afternoon.

• Austin police worked with AISD police to resolve situation
• Children were out of school at the time
• Investigation is ongoing

Police said the situation involved an aggravated assault, involving two people, which began shortly after 11:00 a.m. in the 10300 block of FM 2222.

A man with a weapon got into a physical altercation with a woman before attempting to travel to McBee Elementary School to pick up his child. The school was out of session for a teaching training day.

The Austin Police Department worked in partnership with AISD Police to clear the building.

The child and all school personnel are safe and the investigation is ongoing.
