TEXAS — Heavy amounts of rain are moving through Central and South Texas Saturday morning.

A flash flood warning has been issued for southeastern Williamson County and northeastern Travis County until 9 a.m.

A flood Advisory has been issued for Medina County, Eastern Bandera County, and Bexar County in until 8:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service said doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Earlier storms overnight produced a widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain across the warned area, with pockets in excess of 6 inches across southeastern Williamson county.

Excessive runoff from earlier heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain.

Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
