WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to several water rescues Saturday morning.
A group of people who were in town for a wedding were staying at Casa Rio de Colores in Liberty Hill, hoping for a nice night, but the weather had different plans for them. The heavy rainfall ended up forcing them to evacuate and get to higher ground.
A number of agencies responded to help folks who were trapped.
First responders helped 61 people escape the high waters.
Emergency crews are evacuating the lower level of Shady Oaks RV park off Highway 29 east of Interstate 35, according to Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody.
The Williamson County Office of Emergency management issued an evacuation for those living on McShepard Road along the San Gabriel River.
If you see a flooded street, do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
