AUSTIN, Texas —  An Austin mosque has been vandalized for the second time this month.

According to the North Austin Muslim Community Center, on Thursday, Sept 13., a vandal or vandals, damaged a fence and slashed the tires of multiple vehicles. Police were notified and they are investigating the situation.

In a statement, the NAMCC says “Islam teaches us to be steadfast and persevering for peace and harmony.  Even though some may harbor and sometimes express hate towards Islam and Muslims, we will continue to worship God and serve the Austin Community through our outreach programs, free clinic, and food pantry.  We will continue to grow our services to benefit all of human-kind.”

On Sept. 2, vandals shattered the glass doors and windows of the main hall. A car’s tires were also slashed.
