UVALDE, Texas – A driver was rescued from a flooded roadway in Uvalde after attempting to cross despite rising flood waters.

On Monday morning, the Sabinal Volunteer Fire Department was called to County Road 386 for a Mustang submerged in the water.

According to the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office, the attempt to drive across the low water crossing ended up with the vehicle stuck. The driver was found safe by firefighters.

Residents are reminded by the sheriff’s office to never risk their lives to cross a flooded road and to always wait for waters to recede.
