AUSTIN, Texas -- The Austin Police Department on Wednesday evening reported a situation involving SWAT which prompted street closures in South Austin.
The incident was reported in the 4300 block of S. First Street. Police said all roadways on South 1st St. between Philco Drive, St. Elmo Road and Radam Lane were closed while police investigated.
The situation was said to involve a person in crisis. Police asked people to avoid the area and a nearby restaurant was evacuated. There were no injuries reported.
The person involved has been transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
