AUSITN, Texas – A judge in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday heard arguments in a case that could decide the future of Major League Soccer in Austin. At the conclusion of arguments Tuesday afternoon, the judge declined to issue an immediate ruling and court was adjourned about 3:20 p.m. Central.

In March, Ohio's Attorney General and the City of Columbus sued Major League Soccer and Crew owner Precourt Sports Ventures, in an effort to stop the team from leaving Columbus.

Meanwhile, Precourt is hoping to move the team to Austin. Last month, Austin City Council approved the team's move.

Austin is the largest city in the country with no major league sports team. On Aug. 15, the City Council approved McKalla Place as the potential home for MLS, near The Domain.

City council member Leslie Pool said she was in Ohio ahead of the Austin vote and is accusing Precourt of pitting the cities against each other.

Austin Mayor Steve Adler said the MLS deal would benefit the city.
