AUSTIN, Texas — Austin could be getting a Major League Soccer team, if the Columbus Crew can wrangle their way out of Ohio.

If they do, the team will be called Austin FC, the FC standing for "football club".

MLS2ATX revealed the potential new name and badge at an event in Austin Wednesday.

The Austin FC badge features two green intertwining oak trees against a black background with the name of the city at the top of the U-shaped badge. The badge includes 11 intermingled branches, representing the 11 players on a field, and four roots that symbolize the unification of the city.
