AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin police are searching for the person or persons responsible for shooting a juvenile Monday night.

According to police, officers were called to 11316 Farmhaven Rd. about 11:35 p.m. after a 911 caller reported someone had been shot.

The caller was only able to provide the general area in which the victim was shot. The area is near Bluebonnet Elementary School, in northeast Austin.

Along with Travis County deputies, Austin police searched the Harris Branch neighborhood. The shooting victim was located in the 1100 block of Barns Trail, nearly a half-mile from where the shooting occurred.

The victim was taken to Dell Seton Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He or she was still in the hospital as of Thursday afternoon. It’s not believed the injuries are life-threatening.

An investigation revealed the victim was with another person when he or she was shot by several people. The other person with the victim was not injured.
