AUSTIN, Texas -- As candidates continue their push to win over voters ahead of the midterms, groups are also working to attract people to the polls to perform their civic duty.
Austinites are about to see some familiar slogans morphed into a voting message.
Musician Daniel Johnston's iconic "Hi, How are you?" will hit Capital Metro buses the end of this week with a new message. The phrase will instead say “Hi, I voted.” And Liz Lambert's "I love you so much" will be transformed to "I love voting so much."
The campaign is a partnership between the League of Women Voters of the Austin Area and Enviromedia. Click the video link above to watch them discuss the goal of the initiative.
