AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin-Travis County EMS Friday afternoon reported via Twitter that up to six people may have been injured in a multi-vehicle crash in South Austin.

The crash was reported about noon at 4700 soutbound Interstate 35, just south of Ben White Boulevard.

EMS said the crash involves three adults and three children. One of the injuries to a child triggered a trauma alert. There was also a vehicle fire involved. Three children were taken to Dell Children's Hospital, some of who sustained serious injuries. Two adult women were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center, and another adult was taken to St. David's South Austin Medical Center. 

EMS was evaluating patients. Spectrum News has a crew at the scene and will have updates as they become available.
