PFLUGERVILLE, Texas – The Pflugerville Police Department on Thursday afternoon reported an arrest has been made in connection to a shooting and ensuing SWAT standoff that began late Wednesday night.

Police said a 31-year-old Hispanic man was in custody in connection to the incident and that charges are pending. Police didn’t immediately identify the suspect.

Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, police were notified of shots fired at an apartment complex located at 1501 S. Heatherwilde Blvd.

When officers arrived, additional gunshots were heard coming from inside an apartment unit. No shots were fired by police.

Police estimate more than 50 shots were fired within the apartment. Bullets traveled into walls, adjacent apartment units and the exterior of the building.

The shooting suspect was isolated, and residents were evacuated. Later, the suspect fell out of an apartment window and was taken into custody. He was taken to a hospital for treatment for self-inflicted wounds, police said.

There were no other serious injuries reported. The incident remains under investigation.
