AUSTIN, Texas -- The Austin Justice Coalition is shining a light on black-owned restaurants in Austin with ATX Black Food Week.

The group hosts 'Eat and Greet' socials at different restaurants each day of the week to promote restaurants with history in the city.

Social Events Coordinator Gaubrielle Pritchard said it's important to support these restaurants as Austin continues to grow.

"I think it's just very important to come and help these businesses that are in a growing city but should be part of a growing city because they are a part of the history," Pritchard said. "They've been here for much longer than we have and that's something that should be celebrated."

The group will hold these socials every afternoon through Saturday. For more information on the Austin Justice Coalition, visit the organization's website.
