AUSTIN, Texas – A pedestrian has died after a hit-and-run crash in North Austin Monday morning.

According to Austin police, a bicyclist notified authorities about an unresponsive man on the shoulder of the road about 6:29 a.m. The victim was located in the 5700 block of West Parmer Lane. He was identified as 37-year-old Scott Gerald Whiting.

The driver fled the scene. A vehicle description was not immediately available. One westbound lane of Parmer Lane was closed while police cleared the scene of the crash.
