BURNET COUNTY, Texas – Firefighters on Monday battled an 800-acre wildfire in Burnet County. By 4:30 p.m. Monday, the fire was at 737 acres and 60 percent containe.d 

Several neighboring fire departments were helping put out the growing grass fire.

Fire crews were expected to work all day to control the flames.

The fire ignited on West Country Road 108 north of Burnet on Sunday. Concentrated to ranch land, the fire has not prompted any evacuations.

Locals are asked to avoid calling the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office for updates about the fire as they are busy battling the blaze.  

So far, there is no word on what caused the fire.

Last week, an 800-acre fire was ignited at the Blanco-Llano County lines. It took crews days to get the fire 80 percent contained.
