AUSTIN, Texas -- The U.S. Marshals Service on Friday reported one of Texas’ Top 10 Most Wanted fugitives has been captured in Mexico.

The department said 31-year-old Paulo Guillen was arrested by the Austin Police Department in June 2017 for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. He was placed on bond.

Following a federal indictment and arrest warrant, Guillen failed to show up at court, and a manhunt for him commenced in April 2018.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force determined he had crossed into Mexio.

On Thursday, July 19, Guillen was tracked to Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He was taken into custody and has been returned to Texas where he faces federal and state charges.
