AUSTIN, Texas — The southbound lower level of I-35 was temporarily shut down Sunday due to a crash involving a tractor-trailer.

According to Austin Fire Department, around 4 a.m., they responded to a multiple vehicle accident in the lower lever of I-35. One person was trapped inside a vehicle stuck under the truck. It took emergency responders 30 minutes to rescue the driver trapped inside.

ATCEMS crews transported the driver to Dell Seton Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, and two other adults with non life-threatening injuries.

The scene is still under investigation.
