SAN ANTONIO -- Students from Parkland, Florida, are making their way across the U.S., hosting town halls on gun control.

The group made a stop in San Antonio Monday night at La Trinidad Church on the West Side. They drew hundreds of people who had various opinions on what it will take to curb the number of gun-related deaths in this country.

Students from Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida launched the nationwide tour after 17 people were shot and killed at their school on Valentine's Day.  Those who attend the town halls are encouraged to register and be motivated to vote.

Students say if you don't vote, you can't complain about the policies of this country.

"These are complex issues that will have complex solutions. It's our [duty] to stand up, speak out and find out what those solutions may be," said high school student Sofia Santos.

Critics of the students' efforts say tougher gun lawns will only punish law abiding citizens and do nothing to stop violence. The Road to Change tour is heading to El Paso on Tuesday before heading to New Mexico, Colorado and California.
