AUSTIN, Texas – Worried parents have been reunited with their puppy after she went missing on the Fourth of July and wandered into an Austin Fire Department station.

As soon as the fireworks started going off, the puppy, named Royalty, was found at the fire station scared and soaking wet. Firefighters dried her off and gave the puppy a safe place to stay for the night.

After discovering that the puppy did not have a microchip, the firefighters prepared to foster the puppy until they could find her family.

The picture of the found puppy was posted on the Austin Animal Center's Instagram page. The next day the puppy parents saw the photo and arrived at the fire station to pick up Royalty.

The Austin Fire Department posted on Facebook: “So glad we could do our part to help get this little one back to her rightful kingdom.”
