AUSTIN, Texas — A man is dead after a shooting at a Northwest Austin gas station, and the suspect is at large.
The victim has been identified as Devon Gross, 18.
The call came in just before 5:40 p.m. Wednesday for a 21-year-old black male who had been fatally shot at a Valero in the 13000 block of Pond Springs Road.
On Wednesday, June 27, when the shooting happened, police did not have a suspect. On Friday afternoon, Austin Police Department identified Stanley Earl Pates, age 24, as a lead suspect in the shooting and asked the public's help in tracking him down.

At the scene, ATCEMS treated another man in his 20s minor for non-life threatening injuries.
