AUSTIN, Texas – A “Supernatural” proclamation by Austin Mayor Steve Adler over the weekend left actor Jared Padalecki in awe.
Padalecki tweeted that Adler announced June 23 as “Supernatural” Day, honoring the show’s stars who call Austin their home.
The CW show, “Supernatural,” has been on for 13 seasons and was just renewed for a 14th.
Both of the lead actors, Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, live in Austin. Ackles also has a brewery call Family Business Beer Company, just outside of Austin in Dripping Springs.
According to Adler, the success of the show has fans from around the world flocking to Austin.
Over the weekend, Adler attended an inaugural charity event called PAWS4AKF. The event benefited Austin Pets Alive! and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
I’m humbled. I’m awed. I’m speechless. I’m grateful. The #spnfamily is an INCREDIBLE force, and I truly can’t believe yall made this happen. Thank you. And thank you @MayorAdler #akf @realGpad @JensenAckles @DanneelHarris pic.twitter.com/Qh4hxuvlBw
