WASHINGTON -- Procter & Gamble is pushing for gender equality.

The company said it is aiming to have women direct at least half of its commercials in the next five years.

Currently, women direct only 10 percent of its commercials. Procter & Gamble does not make its own ads but it is urging its partners to help fulfill its commitment.

The agency is responsible for making a variety of products including Tide, Pampers and Old Spice.
