BASTROP COUNTY, Texas – According to a post on the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, there has recently been a rash of credit card skimming incidents.

Authorities said that in many of the cases the suspect or suspects use the skimmed cards to purchase bulk amounts of fuel.

Police said they are going to multiple gas stations and using the stolen card numbers on cloned cards to fill tanks in the back of pickups. The suspect vehicle is described as a later model White Ford 3/4 or 1-ton pickup with a diesel Power Stroke engine, clearance lights, a headache rack, a large white tank in the back that is designed for water, and possibly a 5th-wheel hitch.

Anyone with any information about this incident or has seen someone filling a tank as shown in the video above is asked to contact Mark Garcia at 512-549-5086.
