LAKE TRAVIS, Texas – Travis County officials are looking for a man who went missing at Bob Wentz Park.

The man was reported missing on Sunday at 4:45 p.m. Witnesses told investigators that the man was last seen on a sandbar in Lake Travis.

A Department of Public Safety wing plane assisted with the search. Jonestown police also helped with sonar and shoreline searches.

Soar and aerial searches will resume on Monday. If a target is identified the Travis County Sheriff’s Office dive team will be deployed.

He is considered to be a missing person and not a missing swimmer because witnesses did not report seeing him in the water.

Just last month, a man went missing in the same region of Lake Travis. He was found by a dive team after he drowned. He was not wearing a life jacket.
