NOTE FROM J.G. DETAILING THE INCIDENT:

I’d like to commend APD for saving two dogs lives today. Upon going to have lunch with my wife today around 1:30 p.m., I parked on Red River and observed another guy paying the meter on his truck. When I came back 40 minutes later, I noticed that truck had two dogs panting hard inside! They had been there baking in the heat the whole time! I called 311 who patched me to 911 and was connected to an operator that got down to dispatching an officer so quickly! An officer rolled up a few short minutes later and the officer had the doggies in his A/C’d cruiser and relieved me of my duties. Huge shout out to APD for doing a fantastic job saving two dogs’ lives today! – J.G.
