AUSTIN, Texas -- They say the stars at night are big and bright in Texas and what better way to celebrate that than by being a part of Austin Under the Stars?

Now in its 21st year, the event aims to bring the spectacle of the night sky to the community.

Whether you're a huge astronomy fan or just wanting to learn more about the solar system, Austin Under the Stars is fun for everyone. From hands on activities to planetarium shows--the event is a great way to encourage kids to get involved in astronomy.

"That could be what turns them on to science and to astronomy,” said Dawn Davies, of the Austin Astronomical Society.

Once the sun went down, attendees got the chance to see Jupiter, Venus and Saturn, plus countless stars, galaxies and globular clusters.
