AUSTIN, Texas – Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is in Austin on Friday speaking at two events.

• Cruz leads O'Rourke by 11 points in US Senate race

Cruz will attend a meet and greet in Cedar Park at 1 p.m. The event will take place at 1101 Arrow Point Dr., Building 501.

He will then speak at the Maverick Political Action Committee Conference for young professionals. The event is at 8:30 p.m. and is located at Brazos Hall on 294 East 4^th St.

The Senate race between Cruz and Rep. Beto O' Rourke, D-El Paso, is getting national attention. According to a recent Quinnipiac University poll, 50 percent of Texans polled are backing Cruz while 39 percent are for O’Rourke.
