AUSTIN, Texas -- A trailer fire in East Austin sent a man to the hospital Saturday evening.

Austin fire fighters were called out to an alleyway off of 7th Street and Medina where a utility trailer used by a roofing company caught fire. Fire officials say a compressor was being refilled with gasoline that ignited, followed by an explosion. The fire affected several businesses nearby after burning utility wires.

Austin fire officials say the fire was accidental, but do not know what caused it.

The worker who was injured is expected to be OK. The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damages to the trailer and another $20,000 to the nearby building.
