AUSTIN – The body of a man who went missing in Lake Travis Sunday afternoon has been identified.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office reported that dive teams found 30-year-old Diego Humberto Cerda-Acosta, of Austin, Monday morning. Officials said he was in 15 to 30 feet of water when he went missing on Sunday.
He was not wearing a life jacket.
Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Austin-Travis County EMS reported that crews were responding to an incident in the 6300 block of Bob Wentz Park Road and that a woman in her 30s had been pulled from the water. Authorities stated that she was transported to Baylor Scott & White Lakeway and treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported that three men known to her had swum out to help her, but only two returned to shore.
