AUSTIN, Texas — Although school is almost out for summer, kids around Austin can still go to school to get free breakfast and lunch.

Austin ISD will serve free breakfast and lunch throughout the summer break as part of the Summer Food Service program.

The program is open to all local children and teens ages 18 and younger regardless of economic status and whether or not the child attends AISD.

There’s no registration required and participants can just show up to receive free meals.

Families are encouraged to use the following tools to find a meal site statewide:

  • Call 2-1-1 to speak to a live operator.
  • Visit www.SummerFood.org for an interactive site locator map.
  • Text FOODTX to 877-877
