AUSTIN, Texas —  In observance of Missing Children’s Day, the annual Texas Ride for Missing and Exploited Children on Missing Children’s Day will travel throughout Austin.

The Austin Police Department's Motors Unit will escort approximately 20 bicyclists on their 30-mile ride from the State Capitol to the Oak Hill Elementary School located at 6101 Patton Ranch Road, starting at 7:30 a.m., on May 25.

First Leg of the Route

Riders will stop at the softball field on Robert E. Lee for approximately 30 minutes where students are scheduled to have banners and flyers before riders begin the second leg of their journey to the Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company located at 1305 W. Oltorf.

Second Leg of the Route

Motorists will not be able to pass the riders, but traffic will be released as intersections are cleared.

The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The event has been hosted for 22 years and in five different cities. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Austin office.
