AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin residents now have more time to provide their thoughts and feedback regarding Brian Manley as candidate to become the permanent chief of police.

Austin City Manager Spencer Cronk named Manley as the sole finalist for police chief on April 30.

Feedback from the community about Manley’s answers to questions posed at two community forums will be taken through Thursday, May 31. The feedback will be used as part of Cronk’s evaluation of Manley for permanent appointment.

After May 31, Cronk will decide whether to appoint Manley or widen the pool of candidates through a national search.
