AUSTIN, Texas — Students associated with March for Our Lives held a march and vigil for the victims of Santa Fe High School.

The vigil, according to the Facebook event, started at 8 p.m. on Friday at St. Austin Church, 2026 Guadalupe St. Participants marched to the steps of the Capitol with artificial candles.

This is “a space for Austin to collectively mourn the victims” of the Santa Fe High School shooting, the organizers wrote.

March for Our Lives' mission is to "assure that no special interest group or political agenda is more critical than timely passage of legislation to effectively address the gun violence issues that are rampant in our country."

Many of the Parkland shooting survivors are represented in this grassroots movement. 

Activist will holding a another event on Sunday in front of the Governor's mansion.
