SAN ANTONIO – The funeral services for San Antonio baseball coach Scott Mayer, who had been missing for 10 days, has been announced.

After an outpouring of support from volunteers looking for Mayer, he was discovered to be “no longer with us,” according to the Facebook group, Find Scott Mayer.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 18 at the Coker United Methodist Church.

Mayer leaves behind a wife and three girls. The family is thanking the volunteers as well as those who donated and prayed.

In lieu of flowers, Mayer’s family asks that people consider donating to the Scott Mayer Memorial Fund, which will help his daughters pay for college. Donations can be made at any BBVA Compass Branch Bank under the name Scott Mayer Memorial Fund.

So far, there is no word on how Mayer died. He worked for Johnson High School as a baseball coach, mentoring hundreds of students during his career.
