AUSTIN, Texas — A new report is shedding light on transparency in Austin government.

After a year of review, researchers with Open Government Partnership have identified ways to improve city hall operations.

The group believes that, by improving the way city staffers in different departments communicate, the end result will be a more accessible city government.

“It’s super important that departments are talking to each other and one thing that came up a lot in my conversations with city staff is that their biggest challenge is breaking down the silos that have traditionally existed in city governments for so long,” Raymond Weyandt, an Open Government Partnership Researcher, said.

More than 70 countries participate with the Open Government Partnership in order to make governments more open and accountable.
