AUSTIN, Texas – [UPDATE: 9:03 a.m.] The Travis County Sheriff's Office is continuing the search for a missing swimmer on Lake Travis this morning. TCSO has two boats on the water now, doing grid and sonar searches in the area where he was last seen. Divers will meet at 9 a.m. to discuss possible target locations.

ORIGINAL STORY – Authorities responded to reports of a missing swimmer in Lake Travis Saturday afternoon.

• Call first began for a man that did not resurface
• Multiple agencies assisted in the search
• By end of afternoon the rescue efforts switched to recovery


Shortly before 4 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS Tweeted that they were responding to reports of a man in his 50s that went underwater and did not resurface in the 4300 block of Mansfield Dam Road.

Lake Travis fire fighters are also on-scene using Sonar to assist in the search efforts. Around 4:30 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS reported that they were switching their efforts from a rescue operation to that of a recovery:
