SAN ANTONIO – A woman has a broken leg after jumping out of a second story window to escape an apartment fire.

Around 9:55 p.m. Wednesday night, smoke began filling the Fire Oaks Hills Village Apartments on the 1847 block of Babcock.

The woman, in her 50s, suffered from cuts, bruises, and a head injury along with her broken leg after escaping. A man was rescued by firefighters from the window.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames inside the complex.

An arson investigator was called to the scene to investigate the cause.

The woman was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
