AUSTIN, Texas — A good reminder from Austin firefighters that heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
AFD posted about Panda, a Shih Poo, who saved the day Wednesday when she took on a coral snake making its way toward two small children.
“My awesome hero pet puppy, Panda, saved kids’ lives today. There were two kids (ages 1 and 3) playing on their apartment patio (ground level) when Panda spotted a coral snake two inches from the patio. As we all know, the coral snake is deadly and by it being bright in color, the toddler and child could have easily picked it up and the ending would have been tragic! The fire department came out quickly, removed the snake, and saved the day!,” said Panda’s owner.
