CEDAR PARK, Texas — Crews in Cedar Park on Wednesday afternoon were working to repair a gas line break.

According to Cedar Park police, contractors were installing a water meter and hit a gas line at Freedom Orthodontics on Lakeline Boulevard. There are no evacuations at this time.

Leander ISD sent out a statement telling parents how this gas line break will affect student dismissals. The statement reads, in part:

“The safety of our students is our top priority at Leander ISD. With that in mind, we are writing to inform you of a situation that will affect some of our students after dismissal this afternoon.

"Cedar Park police are monitoring a gas leak repair near the intersection of Lakeline and New Hope Drive. Until repairs have been made, the west side of that intersection has been blocked off both to traffic and pedestrians down to Fairweather Way. Students that usually walk home from neighboring schools will need to walk on the east side of Lakeline.

"The gas leak poses no threat to our campuses, but we ask families to use caution when picking up their students in the area.”
