SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio self-proclaimed drag queen is now seeing his name in lights after going from serving at an Olive Garden to singing alongside Lea Michele on "American Idol."

Vox first tried out for "American Idol" season 1, but didn’t make the cut. After auditioning for the show 13 more times, Vox made the season 16 cast.

On April 17, Vox landed in the top 14 for the semi-finals.

Now, after Sunday night’s performance, it will be up to the voters if Vox makes it into the next round.

The drag community has been a huge supporter of Vox, with "RuPaul’s Drag Race" judge, Michelle Visage, even reaching out on Twitter offering a makeover for the "American Idol" finals. Vox replied with “duh please and thank you.”

The voter results will air on April 23’s live show with the top 10 reveal.
