AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin Reggae Fest is celebrating 25 years of bringing music and fun out to Auditorium Shores.

The threat of rain didn't keep people from coming out, because the event is more than just a good time for reggae fans.

Each year, Reggae Fest benefits the Central Texas Food Bank, helping those who struggle with knowing where their next meal will come from. The nonprofit said the event has helped it generate more than 2 million meals in the past five years.

"Hunger is a major issue here in Central Texas. One in four children, we distribute food to 46,000 Central Texans every week, and it's events like this that help us execute our mission,” said Derrick Chubbs, Central Texas Food bank President.

Reggae Fest continues on Sunday, with gates opening at noon. Tickets are still available either online or on-site.
