SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is investigating violent social media threats made toward students at Hays High School on Friday.

A memo was sent out overnight around 12:14 a.m. detailing the investigation into the alleged threats.

Lt. Dennis Guiterrez stated in the memo that they do not have a person of interest at this time. All threats are taken seriously when the student body is threatened, according to the Hays Independent School District.

Deputies questioned students who might be persons of interest Thursday night.

School security will be strengthened as a precaution on Friday with additional law enforcement on campus.

Anyone knows who made the threat is urged to call 911.
