HOUSTON — Barbara and George H.W. Bush have been going to the same nail salon in their Tanglewood neighborhood since 2005.

At Tangelwood Nail is an appointment book with the last date that they saw Mrs. Bush: March 1.

There are pictures with the couple are on display, that have been there for years.

Now, there is table with a small tribute with the holiday cards the Bush family mailed every year. Employees said Barbara Bush made them laugh and made them feel important.

"She was really simple, tried to be normal, like everybody,” Trinh Minh Nguyen said.

Co Dang always took care of the former first lady and President Bush. Dang was invited to Barbara Bush's funeral Saturday at St. Martin's.

"Just a week ago, I saw her in the hospital well, look well, everything good," Dang said. "But when I heard about (her death),  I was very hurt.”
