AUSTIN, Texas — Students and staff were evacuated from a Leander Independent School District elementary school after a threat came in just prior to dismissal.

At approximately 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Rutledge Elementary School in northwest Austin received the threat. 

Law enforcement were notified immediately, and the school was evacuated/ students released to their parents/guardians or school buses.

According to school officials, police responded to the scene, thoroughly inspected the campus with a bomb-sniffing dog and gave the all clear at 4:25 p.m.

says all students and staff are safe, and school officials are working with law enforcement to resolve the situation.
