AUSTIN, Texas — A new poll finds the battle between Sen. Ted Cruz and Congressman Beto O'Rourke "too close to call."

  • Last week, news broke that Cruz raised less than half of what O'Rourke brought in this year
  • In poll, Cruz gets 47% while O'Rourke gets 44%

A Quinnipiac University poll shows the two men in a dead heat for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Cruz.

Cruz gets the support of 47 percent of Texas voters, while the El Paso Democrat has the backing of 44 percent.

That difference falls within the poll's margin of error.

When it comes to favorability, Cruz gets a lackluster response. Forty-six percent of Texans have a favorable view of the senator while 44 percent have an unfavorable one.

O'Rourke had a positive favorability rating. But 53 percent said they don’t know enough about him to form an opinion.
