AUSTIN, Texas — Who said Austin City Council meetings were all work and no...Foreigner?

That’s right. Austinite Sylvia Mendoza took the opportunity to play the English-American rock band's hit song, "Cold as Ice" in its entirety during the general citizens’ communication part of the meeting.

Why? No one knows for certain. She did take the opportunity to insert ‘Austin’ into the refrain. Take from that what you will. 

The City Council meets every other Wednesday, with opportunity for community input. We can't promise it'll always be so colorful, but word on the street is that Ms. Mendoza is a meeting regular.
