JONESTOWN, Texas -- Jonestown, Texas, police on Tuesday afternoon urged residents to evacuate due to a grass fire.

The fire was located in the Easy Street area of Jonestown, police reported. Easy Street is located off of FM Road 1431, near Lake Travis.

Just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Travis County Fire reported the fire was contained and that no homes were damaged. Voluntary evacuations were lifted. A spokesperson said the fire involved seven or eight acres in a heavily wooded area located between three neighborhoods and was moving quickly. In all, 25 homes were evacuated. 

STAR Flight made numerous water drops, and the firefighteing efforts involved crews from Leander and Cedar Park in addition to Fish and Wildlife. 

Just prior to the announcement of the grass fire on Easy Street, Jonestown police tweeted about a brush fire nearby, in the area of E. Reed Park at FM 1431.
