NATIONWIDE — April 11 is National Pet Day. Whether your pet is furry, has scales, walks on four legs or swims in water, an animal companion can bring joy to your life.

According to the National Day Calendar, National Pet Day was first celebrated in 2005 by pet lifestyle expert and animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige and sponsored by the Animal Miracle Foundation & Network.

Ways to Celebrate National Pet Day
